Resilience, dependability and optimization of critical infrastructures

2017.11.06. 09.00-17:00

Traditional infrastructures were stand-alone, nearly isolated systems only with at most a weak coupling between them.

The advent of modern and powerful information technologies provide integration and supervisory platforms offering an opportunity for harmonized control of heterogeneous resources in smart cities, optimization of their operation.

Such large-scale cyber-physical systems promise essential economic, social and environmental benefits. However, an unintentional failure in the IT system has a radically amplified risk. Failure in critical infrastructures (like energy, traffic, finances etc.) endanger the fundamental services of the individual citizens, society, and economy.

The workshop organized by the "Smart city, smart government" working group addresses the core problems and risks related to the introduction of advanced IT solutions into infrastructure operations.

Several leading international experts will present the state-of-the-art in the field in addition to reporting the progress of the project.

The workshop will take place at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics.

Address: 1117 Budapest, Magyar tudósok krt.2., Building I, Room: IB019.
